Bacha Khan University Signs MoU with ICCBS, University of Karachi to Promote Academic Collaboration

KARACHI: Bacha Khan University, Charsadda, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, to strengthen academic cooperation and promote mutual understanding between the two institutions.

According to a spokesman for ICCBS, the MoU was executed through the exchange of signed documents via courier. The agreement was signed by Muhammad Raza Shah, Director ICCBS, and Khan Alam, Vice Chancellor of Bacha Khan University, on behalf of their respective institutions.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah said that ICCBS is among the leading research establishments in the region. He noted that the center runs the largest doctoral program in Pakistan, reflecting its strong academic and research capacity.

He added that ICCBS has emerged as a major center of excellence in chemical, biological, and biochemical sciences, serving as a hub for research and training scholars from different countries. He further stated that the institution has been designated as a Centre of Excellence by international organizations including UNESCO, World Health Organization, The World Academy of Sciences, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.

It is pertinent to mention that Bacha Khan University is a prominent institution committed to excellence in education, research, and community service. The university aims to provide accessible, high-quality education while nurturing scholars capable of addressing contemporary global challenges.

Under the MoU, both institutions will collaborate to facilitate the exchange of faculty members, researchers, and experts for research, teaching, and knowledge sharing. They also agreed to initiate joint research programs and develop collaborative proposals for submission to national and international funding agencies.

The agreement will further enable faculty members and researchers from both institutions to participate in conferences, symposia, seminars, and workshops organized by either side, strengthening academic linkages and research cooperation.
