Dow University Observes Youm-e-Tashakur in Solidarity with Pakistan Armed Forces

KARACHI: Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) observed Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Gratitude) with patriotic fervor and national pride at both its Ojha and Dow Medical College campuses, expressing strong solidarity with the Armed Forces of Pakistan and paying heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of the recent conflict.

A rally and commemorative ceremony were held at the Dow Medical College campus, led by Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Jahan Ara Hasan, accompanied by Registrar Dr. Ashar Afaq, Principal Dow Medical College Prof. Saba Sohail, Vice Principal Dr. Shamaila Khalid, Principal Dow International Medical College Prof. Iftikhar Ahmed, and senior faculty members including Prof. Sajida Qureshi, Prof. Zeba Ahmed, and Prof. Nawaz Lashari.

Prof. Jahan Ara Hasan said, “Our valiant Armed Forces have uplifted the nation’s spirit through unmatched courage and sacrifice. Today, faculty, staff, and students of Dow University stand united in gratitude and national solidarity.”

Registrar Dr. Ashar Afaq noted, “This is a moment of historic significance that has brought the nation together. Healthcare professionals across the country, including our teams, were fully prepared for emergency response during the Indian aggression. Our Armed Forces have not only responded with resolve but have dealt a decisive blow to the enemy.”

Prof. Saba Sohail emphasized, “While our Armed Forces defended the nation on the frontlines, doctors across Pakistan were ready to serve in any crisis. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our forces, prepared as medical professionals.”

As part of the national support efforts, Dow students launched a blood donation campaign and contributed to emergency preparedness. Hospitals affiliated with DUHS had completed comprehensive emergency response plans to handle potential wartime scenarios.

Prof. Nawaz Lashari, Head of Cardiology, added, “Our collective unity with the Armed Forces led to a strong and victorious defense of the country. Together, we have shown the world that no adversary can challenge Pakistan’s spirit and sovereignty.”

The rally saw enthusiastic participation from students holding national flags and banners expressing solidarity with the military. The campus echoed with patriotic chants of PakistanZindabad, PakFaujPaindabad, and SaluteToTheMartyrs, as students expressed unwavering support for the Armed Forces and reaffirmed their commitment to the nation.

The event concluded with a special prayer for the safety, unity, and continued success of Pakistan and its defenders.
