Empowering communities for polio-free future: minister Shaheena Ali leads refusal drive in Dalmia

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Women Development Authority and Member of the Provincial Assembly, Ms. Shaheena Sher Ali, led a Refusal Conversion Drive in UC-7 Dalmia, District East, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to eradicate polio from Pakistan.

She was accompanied by ADC-I Samiullah Sanjrani, DHO Dr. Zahid Solangi, DDPO Dr. Wasif, NSTOP Dr. Anum, CCO Muhammad Ussaid Soomro, SCBO Moiz, UC-level staff, community mobilizers, and local and political representatives.

During the visit, the team met with families who had previously refused polio vaccination and successfully converted 10 refusal cases, underscoring the power of community engagement, dialogue, and leadership support in protecting every child from the crippling disease.

Minister Shaheena Sher Ali appreciated the tireless work of frontline health workers and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to a Polio-Free Pakistan, emphasizing that collective action and local leadership are key to overcoming remaining challenges.
