KARACHI: The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sohail University, Karachi, to strengthen academic, research, and technological cooperation.
The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. M. Raza Shah, Director of ICCBS, and Dr. Rizwana Warraich, Dean, Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences, Sohail University, at a ceremony held at the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Raza Shah emphasized the importance of academic partnerships in advancing scientific excellence and building stronger research networks in Pakistan. Highlighting ICCBS’s standing as one of the country’s leading centers of excellence in chemical, biological, and biochemical sciences, he noted that the institution serves as a hub for training scholars from various countries.
Dr. Rizwana Warraich said that Sohail University is a recognized higher education institution committed to providing quality education and fostering an environment conducive to academic and professional growth. As a progressive institution, she added, Sohail University is dedicated to research excellence and to developing programs that address societal needs and evolving job market demands.
Under the MoU, both institutions agreed to collaborate on joint research projects, faculty and researcher exchanges, supervision of graduate students, and the organization of seminars, workshops, and symposia. The partnership aims to enhance scientific knowledge, foster innovation, and strengthen academic linkages for the benefit of students, faculty, and researchers.
