JSMU Hosts 83 Faculty Members from 9 Universities for Financial Literacy Training

KARACHI: Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU), in collaboration with the Sindh Higher Education Commission (HEC), hosted a comprehensive financial literacy workshop under the Prime Minister's National Financial Literacy Program. The workshop was organized by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

The event brought together 83 faculty members from nine public and private institutions, including JSMU, IBA, NED University, University of Karachi, Al-Ghazi University, Baqai Medical University, HANDS Institute, KASBIT, and Sir Syed University.

Through interactive sessions, participants were introduced to fundamental concepts such as investment basics, savings strategies, and the regulatory role of SECP.

“Financial literacy is crucial for economic empowerment,” said Prof. Amjad Siraj Memon, Vice Chancellor of JSMU. Mr. Murtaza Abbas, Joint Secretary of SECP, emphasized the role of educators in spreading financial awareness: “Educators are key to building a financially aware nation.”

The workshop was well-received for its practical and engaging approach. Participants committed to advancing financial literacy within their respective institutions.
