KARACHI: The Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi, has announced a one-month special internship program for recent medical and dental graduates and students. The program will be held from December 1 to 31, 2025, at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi.
The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director ICCBS. The meeting was informed that the internship aims to provide participants with hands-on experience in molecular and cellular research, enhancing their understanding of clinically relevant studies, research design, methodology, and analytical interpretation.
Participants will receive training across six major ICCBS centers, including: Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), Pharmaceutical Testing Laboratories, Jamil-ur-Rahman Center for Genomics, National Institute of Virology, Sino-Pakistan Traditional Medicine Research Center, Center for Bioequivalence Studies and Clinical Research.
These centers have been declared Sindh Government Healthcare Research Centers by the provincial minister for health and population welfare.
Interns will be trained in 11 scientific disciplines, including bioinformatics, computational chemistry, bioequivalence studies, genomics, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, pharmacology, proteomics, stem cell research, structural biology, and virology.
Students enrolled in MBBS or BDS programs can apply by submitting their area of interest, 2024 mark sheet, recommendation letter from the Head of Department, and CV to iccbsinternship@gmail.com by November 2, 2025.
Selected candidates will be placed in different PCMD sections for the four-week training. The ICCBS clarified that no stipend or remuneration will be provided to participants.
