KARACHI: The Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi, will organize a public awareness seminar titled “Medication and Lifestyle Adjustments During Ramadan: The Month of Unlimited Blessings” on Wednesday, February 11, at 2:30 pm. The seminar will be held at the Lecture Hall of the L.E.J. National Science Information Center.
According to a spokesperson of the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), the awareness session is being jointly organized by PCMD and the Sindh Innovation Research and Education Network (SIREN).
Prof. Dr. Mohammed Rehan Omar, FCPS (Cardiology), FCPS (Medicine), Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the National Medical Center and Life Healthcare Clinics, will be the keynote speaker. He will address key issues related to safe medication use, dietary balance, and lifestyle modifications during fasting, with a special focus on patients with chronic conditions.
The seminar aims to raise public awareness about maintaining health during Ramadan while managing existing medical conditions responsibly. It is expected to benefit healthcare professionals, students, research scholars, and staff members by providing practical guidance grounded in clinical experience.
The initiative reflects the University of Karachi’s continued commitment to community health education, evidence-based medical guidance, and public engagement on issues of preventive care and wellbeing, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
