PhD Entrance Tests Held at ICCBS–University of Karachi

KARACHI: Entrance tests for admission to PhD programmes for the year 2025 (second intake) were held on Sunday at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi.

According to an ICCBS spokesperson, dozens of candidates appeared in the examination, which started at 10:00 a.m. and concluded at 12:00 noon. The test was conducted at the L.E.J. National Science Information Center located within the ICCBS premises.

On the special instructions of ICCBS Director Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, strict security arrangements were ensured, and entry of unauthorized individuals near the examination centres was restricted. 

The spokesperson said the results of the entrance test would be announced on the ICCBS and University of Karachi official websites on January 5, 2026.
He added that, in line with the international centre’s policy, admissions would be granted strictly on a merit basis under the University of Karachi’s approved higher education programmes.

Successful candidates will be required to appear in interviews scheduled for January 7, 2026, while the final merit list will be displayed on January 16, 2026. Selected candidates will be offered admission at the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research and the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi.

For the facilitation of candidates, shuttle bus services were arranged from the Maskan Gate and the Campus Gate near Sheikh Zayed Islamic Center to ICCBS on the directives of the ICCBS Director.
