Renowned ENT specialist Professor M. Jalisi passes away — Medical community mourns

KARACHI: The medical community across Pakistan is in deep mourning following the passing of Professor M. Jalisi, a distinguished ENT consultant, veteran faculty member of Dow Medical College, and respected mentor to generations of doctors. He passed away last night, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, compassion, and academic leadership.

The Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) and the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) expressed profound sorrow over his demise, terming it an irreparable loss to the medical profession. In their condolence messages, both associations paid tribute to his lifelong commitment to patient care and medical education.

Doctors, colleagues, and former students from across the country also shared heartfelt condolences, remembering Professor Jalisi as an outstanding clinician, a dedicated teacher, and a guiding force for young medical professionals.

“Professor Jalisi was a pillar of medical ethics and education. His mentorship shaped the careers of countless doctors. His absence will be deeply felt,” said members of PIMA Karachi.

“The medical community has lost an exemplary physician and educator. His contributions to ENT clinical practice will always be remembered,” stated PMA representatives.

Throughout his illustrious career, Professor Jalisi earned immense respect for his clinical expertise and his commitment to advancing medical education in Pakistan. His former students describe him as both a teacher and a father figure who encouraged professionalism, empathy, and integrity in medical practice.

May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and bless his family, students, and colleagues with strength and patience during this time of profound loss. Aameen.
