KARACHI: In a significant move to enhance healthcare services, Secretary Health Sindh, Rehan Iqbal Baloch, inaugurated the newly established Resuscitation Bay and Post-Surgical ICU at the Sindh Government Qatar Hospital in Orangi Town.
Upon arrival, Medical Superintendent Dr. Rashid Siraj Khanzada and the hospital administration warmly welcomed the Secretary. He was then given a detailed tour of the Emergency Department, Medical Ward, Eye Department, Medical ICU, Endoscopy Suite, Central Medical Store, and other departments.
Dr. Rashid Siraj stated that the new emergency bay is the first of its kind in any public hospital at this level. The Post-Surgical ICU is also equipped with all modern facilities, including ventilators.
On this occasion, Secretary Rehan Baloch appreciated the hard work and dedication of Dr. Khanzada and expressed satisfaction over the hospital's management and the medical facilities being provided to patients.
Speaking to Health Matters, Dr. Rashid Siraj shared that he has also requested the Secretary to establish a unit of the NICVD (National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases) within the hospital and highlighted the issue of staff shortages. He added that the Secretary has encouraged all staff members for their excellent work.
