KARACHI: Pakistan’s internationally acclaimed film actor and legendary villain, Mustafa Qureshi, suffered a leg fracture after falling on a broken road outside his residence in Karachi.
According to doctors, the veteran actor, who has appeared in more than 700 films, will remain on complete bed rest for at least six weeks.
Speaking about the incident, Mustafa Qureshi said he was taking a walk outside his house early in the morning after Fajr prayers when the accident occurred.
“The road was dug up and uneven. My foot got stuck in a broken patch, I fell badly, hit my head on the road, and fractured my leg — thankfully my eye was saved,” he said.
Expressing frustration over the city’s crumbling infrastructure, the veteran actor added,
“May Allah grant wisdom to our rulers so that they finally repair the roads of this city.”
Qureshi also shared that he had planned to attend the launch ceremony of Senator Raza Rabbani’s book on the same day but could not participate due to the injury.
This incident once again highlights the hazardous road conditions in Karachi, where open potholes, dug-up streets, and uncoordinated repair works have become a daily risk for citizens. Despite repeated complaints, civic authorities have failed to ensure pedestrian safety and proper maintenance of city roads.
