HYDERABAD: The district administration in Qasimabad has taken action against violations of tobacco control laws, confiscating non-custom-paid and loose cigarettes as well as sheesha during raids conducted at Poonam Petrol Pump Mart and Taj Pump Mart.

Assistant Commissioner Qasimabad, Mr Hataf Siyal, led the operation in coordination with the District Tobacco Control Cell, Hyderabad. During the raids, a total of 105 packs of illegal and loose cigarettes along with sheesha were seized.

Officials said the action was carried out against illegal trade and smuggling of tobacco products and for violations of the Prohibition of Smoking and Protection of Non-Smokers Health Ordinance, 2002, including the sale of tobacco products to minors.

The district administration stated that such enforcement measures reflect its continued commitment to safeguarding public health, curbing illegal tobacco trade and ensuring strict compliance with tobacco control laws. Authorities also warned that similar actions will continue against violators in the future.
