KARACHI: A delegation of the Muttahida Workers Front CBA held talks with the management of Dow Hospital over the restoration of medical panel facilities for employees of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC).
The CBA delegation was led by Chairman Irshad Khan and included Joint In-charge Anwar Habib and Jameel Sodagar. Dow Hospital was represented by General Manager Finance Syed Hamid Ali Shah and Accounts Officer Fahad Sharif.
During the meeting, both sides discussed in detail the circumstances surrounding the suspension of KW&SC employees from the hospital’s medical panel and possible steps for restoring healthcare facilities.
According to the CBA, the Dow Hospital management said KW&SC had been removed from the medical panel because payments of outstanding dues had not been made on time. Issues relating to the involvement of the insurance company were also discussed during the meeting.
The hospital management maintained that timely settlement of payments was necessary to ensure uninterrupted medical services and prevent employees from facing difficulties in accessing healthcare facilities.
CBA Chairman Irshad Khan assured the hospital management that its legitimate concerns and demands would be taken up with the Managing Director of Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation.
He said the Muttahida Workers Front CBA would make efforts to address the outstanding issues between the two institutions and facilitate the restoration of the medical panel for KW&SC employees.
Irshad Khan also assured KW&SC employees that the union would pursue the matter with the relevant authorities and expected practical progress towards resolving medical-related issues soon.
He said the CBA would continue its efforts to ensure that employees and their families were able to access required healthcare services without unnecessary difficulties.
