KARACHI: Sindh has reported 117,016 malaria cases from January 1 to September 29, 2026, while no malaria-related deaths or hospital admissions due to cerebral malaria were recorded during the period, according to data released by the Deputy Director General Vector Borne Diseases (VBDs), Directorate General Health Services Sindh.
According to the consolidated malaria data, a total of 1,915,058 people were screened for malaria across the province during the period, of whom 117,016 were found to have malaria.
Hyderabad Division recorded the highest number of malaria cases, with 46,183 cases detected among 626,282 people screened.
Larkana Division reported 33,785 cases from 583,691 screenings, followed by Shaheed Benazirabad Division with 13,005 cases from 270,123 screenings.
Sukkur Division recorded 12,058 malaria cases among 191,328 people screened, while Mirpurkhas Division reported 10,898 cases following the screening of 187,980 people.
Karachi Division recorded 1,087 malaria cases among 55,654 people screened during the period.
District-wise figures showed that Larkana recorded 13,372 cases, Jacobabad 11,119, Badin 7,133, Khairpur 7,046, Mirpurkhas 6,798, Shaheed Benazirabad 6,313, Dadu 6,185 and Thatta 6,173 cases.
The provincial data further showed that none of the reported malaria patients was admitted to hospital due to cerebral malaria, while no malaria-related death was recorded across Sindh during the reporting period.
The Health Department said malaria prevention and surveillance activities were continuing across all divisions of the province.
