CM Sindh highlights importance of eye Hlhealth on World Sight Day

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has emphasized that eyesight is one of nature’s most precious gifts, and its protection is a collective responsibility. In his message on the occasion of World Sight Day, the Chief Minister said raising public awareness about eye health is a commendable step and the Sindh Government will continue to extend full cooperation for public health initiatives.

He stressed that preserving eyesight requires joint efforts and that neglecting eye health is equivalent to dimming the light of one’s own life. Public awareness campaigns, he said, form the foundation of a healthy society, adding that “clear vision ensures a bright future.”

Earlier, a free eye camp was organized at the Chief Minister House in collaboration with the Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust (LRBT) under the theme “Roshan Nazar, Roshan Mustaqbil” (Bright Vision, Bright Future). The camp was inaugurated by Secretary to CM Abdul Rahim Shaikh and attended by CM House officers, staff, and medical professionals.

The camp offered free eye check-ups, vision tests, preliminary diagnoses, and medical consultations. Senior CM House physician Dr. Mukesh Kumar briefed participants on the importance of World Sight Day and the objectives of the camp, stating that public awareness about eye health is the need of the hour.

Secretary to CM Abdul Rahim Shaikh appreciated LRBT’s efforts, calling it a remarkable institution playing a leading role in restoring vision and serving humanity. He added that, as per the Chief Minister’s directives, the Sindh Government fully supports such welfare initiatives. He also noted that the participation of CM House officials and staff reflects a shared commitment to personal and community health, particularly the protection of eyesight.
