KARACHI: A review meeting on HPV vaccine advocacy and demand generation was held between the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) Sindh and the Association for Mothers and Newborns (AMAN) to assess progress and strengthen future strategies.

The meeting was chaired by Project Director EPI Sindh, Dr. Raj Kumar, and attended by key members of the EPI team, including Dr. Arslan Memon, Dr. Ehsan Bhurgri, and Dr. Tariq Masood. AMAN was represented by its Secretary General Dr. Azra Ahsan, CEO Dr. Mariam Waqas, and COO and Project Director HPV Advocacy Project, Dr. Humera Mansoor.

Participants reviewed ongoing advocacy initiatives, community engagement efforts, and targeted interventions aimed at improving awareness and acceptance of the HPV vaccine across Sindh.

A detailed discussion was also held regarding upcoming activities for World Immunization Week, scheduled from April 24 to 30. The Project Director EPI Sindh assured full support for the planned initiatives, while also providing strategic guidance to further enhance outreach and impact.
The meeting underscored the importance of strengthened collaboration between stakeholders and scaling up demand generation efforts to expand immunization coverage and protect women and girls from HPV-related diseases, including cervical cancer.
Both EPI Sindh and AMAN reaffirmed their commitment to advancing public health outcomes through coordinated advocacy and effective immunization strategies across the province.
