KARACHI: The Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) Sindh and the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Sindh have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening routine immunisation across Karachi Division, with a particular focus on identifying and vaccinating zero-dose and missed children to ensure that no child remains deprived of life-saving vaccines.

A high-level coordination meeting with District Health Officers (DHOs) of Karachi Division was chaired by EOC Sindh Coordinator Shehryar Gul Memon and co-chaired by EPI Sindh Project Director Dr Raj Kumar.

The meeting was attended by Additional Project Director EPI Sindh Dr Suhail Raza Shaikh, Deputy Director Dr Arslan Memon, district focal persons and members of the EPI Sindh core team.
During the meeting, participants reviewed strategies to improve routine immunisation coverage, particularly in areas where children remain unvaccinated or have missed scheduled doses.
Special emphasis was placed on identifying zero-dose children, strengthening mechanisms for tracking immunisation defaulters and ensuring timely follow-up to bring missed children into the vaccination programme.
The participants also discussed measures to improve vaccine availability, strengthen cold chain management systems and enhance coordination between district health authorities and immunisation teams to ensure uninterrupted vaccination services.
Field monitoring, accountability and performance evaluation were identified as key priorities for improving immunisation outcomes across Karachi Division.
The meeting underscored the importance of stronger coordination between EPI Sindh, EOC Sindh and district health administrations to address existing immunisation gaps and improve access to essential vaccination services.
Both EPI Sindh and EOC Sindh reiterated their commitment to reaching every eligible child through effective planning, strengthened field operations and improved monitoring mechanisms.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment to the shared mission of ensuring that every child across Karachi Division receives timely and life-saving vaccines, leaving no child behind.
