German Scholar to Deliver UNESCO Chair Lecture on Climate Change at Karachi University

KARACHI: A German scholar, Dr. Jan Freihardt, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair for International Political Economy and Environmental Politics (IPEE) at ETH Zurich’s Department of Humanities, Social and Political Sciences (D-GESS), will deliver a lecture on climate change at the University of Karachi on Wednesday, April 8.

The lecture, titled “Climate Change and (Im)Mobility: The Case of Bangladesh and Implications for Pakistan,” will be held at 11:00 AM at the Latif Ebrahim Jamal National Science Information Center (LEJNSIC), International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS).

According to a spokesperson for ICCBS, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director of ICCBS and UNESCO Chair holder, will deliver introductory remarks at the event. The lecture is part of the UNESCO Chair Lecture Series.

The event is being jointly organized by the UNESCO Chair on Medicinal and Bio-Organic Natural Product Chemistry at ICCBS and the Sindh Innovation Research and Education Network (SIREN), bringing together academics, researchers, and students to discuss the growing challenges of climate change and its regional implications.
