ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced that the National Examination Board (NEB) examination will be held on May 16, 2026, in Rawalpindi, providing an opportunity for Pakistani students affected by the ongoing situation in Iran to appear in the test.
According to an official statement issued on Tuesday, the online registration portal for the examination will remain open from April 9 to April 24, 2026. All eligible candidates have been advised to complete their registration within the specified timeframe once the portal becomes active.
The PMDC conducts the NEB twice annually to assess the knowledge, clinical skills, and professional competence of students who have partially completed their medical or dental education abroad and seek transfer or admission into Pakistani institutions. The examination will be computer-based and consist of multiple-choice questions.
As per the eligibility criteria, Pakistani students enrolled in foreign medical or dental institutions who have completed at least two years of study and have reached the third year are eligible to sit for the examination. Clearing the NEB is mandatory for transfer and admission into medical and dental colleges in Pakistan for the next academic session.
The council noted that the upcoming examination also provides a key opportunity for students currently studying in Iran, particularly those impacted by the prevailing situation, to continue their academic pathway in Pakistan. Such candidates have been advised to complete all required codal formalities and ensure timely registration.
The PMDC further cautioned students and parents planning to pursue medical or dental education abroad to carefully evaluate safety conditions and long-term academic prospects before making decisions, emphasizing that student safety and well-being remain a top priority.
Detailed information regarding the examination schedule, syllabus, and venue is available on the official PMDC website, and candidates have been encouraged to regularly check for updates and further instructions.
