KARACHI: The 9th International Symposium-cum-Training Course on Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (MMDR-9) will begin on Monday, November 24–27, 2025 at the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD), University of Karachi.
The global scientific event — organized under the umbrella of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) — will be inaugurated by Prof. Dr. S. M. Tariq Rafi, Chairman of the Sindh Higher Education Commission (HEC).
According to ICCBS Director Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, who presided over a meeting of the organizing committee at PCMD on Friday, around 600 national and international scholars are expected to attend the four-day international conference. He said the symposium is aimed at promoting scientific collaboration and bringing together leading global experts in the field of molecular medicine.
The inaugural ceremony will take place on Monday, November 24, at 9:30 a.m. at the Prof. Salimuzzaman Siddiqui Auditorium, ICCBS. Sindh HEC Chairman Prof. Dr. S. M. Tariq Rafi will deliver the opening address.

The scientific program will include plenary sessions, invited lectures by eminent researchers, and poster presentations by young scientists from Pakistan and abroad — providing a platform for cutting-edge discussions in molecular medicine and drug discovery.
