Health Minister Inaugurates Modern Modular Operation Theatres at JPMC

KARACHI: Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho on Wednesday inaugurated state-of-the-art modular elective and emergency operation theatres at the Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

During the inauguration ceremony, a patient from the surgery waiting list presented a bouquet to the Health Minister as a gesture of appreciation.

The ceremony was attended by JPMC Executive Director Prof. Dr. Khalid Sher, Joint Executive Director Dr. Suleman, Pro Vice Chancellor of Jinnah Sindh Medical University Prof. Dr. Nighat Shah, Dean JPMC Prof. Dr. Haleema Yasmeen, Dr. Nasreen Farima, Deputy Executive Directors Dr. Yahya and Dr. Nousheen, ADM Dr. Saddam Saleh, and Dr. Adeel, Incharge Security.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho praised the efforts of the JPMC administration for improving healthcare facilities and assured her full support for the institution’s future development. She appreciated the advanced operation theatre facilities being provided to patients and acknowledged the services of doctors, nurses and other healthcare staff.

The Health Minister said the Sindh government remained committed to strengthening public healthcare institutions and expanding quality medical services for people across the province.

She also commended Executive Director Prof. Dr. Khalid Sher for his efforts in the development of the institution and for promoting transparency and merit in administrative affairs.

The newly inaugurated modular operation theatres are expected to enhance surgical services and improve patient care at JPMC, one of the country's largest tertiary-care hospitals.
