KARACHI: The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has announced a significant increase in monthly scholarships for its MPhil and Ph.D. scholars, further strengthening its commitment to research excellence in Pakistan.
Under the revised policy, the Ph.D. scholarship has been raised from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 70,000 per month, while MPhil students will now receive Rs. 30,000, up from Rs. 20,000. The decision was approved during a faculty meeting chaired by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director of ICCBS, held at the institute’s Seminar Room on Tuesday.
Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Shah said, “ICCBS is among the few institutions in the country offering scholarships to all students enrolled in its postgraduate programs. With our student-friendly policies and world-class facilities, we aim to empower scholars to pursue high-quality, impactful research.”
Admissions are currently open for the MPhil and Ph.D. programs for the academic year 2025. Successful candidates will be enrolled in either the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD) or the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, both renowned for cutting-edge scientific research.

Candidates must submit a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 8,000 at any Bank Alfalah branch. The completed admission form, along with academic transcripts and paid fee voucher, should be submitted to the ICCBS Academic Coordination Office from June 23 to July 07, 2025.
