KARACHI: In a landmark effort to strengthen the quality of higher education across Pakistan, the Aga Khan University (AKU), through its Network of Quality, Teaching and Learning (QTL_net), hosted a National Dialogue in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. The event aimed to align institutions with HEC’s newly launched Quality Assurance (QA) framework.

The gathering brought together Vice Chancellors, institutional leaders, and Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) Directors from 91 universities across Sindh, Karachi, and Balochistan. The high-level dialogue fostered inter-provincial collaboration and consensus on the future direction of quality practices in academia.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation by Mr. Faisal Notta, Director QEC at AKU, who shared a pioneering student engagement model for quality enhancement. This innovative model has been recognized as a national initiative and is set to form the basis of a strategic partnership with HEC, aiming to replicate and adapt it across higher education institutions in Pakistan.
The dialogue reinforced QTL_net’s leadership as a national catalyst for quality improvement, collaboration, and educational innovation. It also reflected AKU’s ongoing commitment to shaping policy and practice in Pakistan’s higher education landscape.
