KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has suspended Dr Faisal Samdani, Director Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (M&HS), on charges of gross misconduct. The suspension order, issued by the Human Resource Management Department on December 5, directs Dr Samdani to immediately report to the HRM Department.
According to the notification, Dr Samdani, a BPS-18 officer, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect. The department stated that a show-cause notice or charge sheet will follow, while the officer will continue to draw substantial allowance as permitted under the rules and law.
The action has been taken under the directives of the Competent Authority, KMC. Copies of the order have been forwarded to senior officials including the Financial Advisor KMC, Senior Director M&HS, Medical Superintendent Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Director Services, Director S&P, the Secretary to the Mayor, and others concerned.
The suspension marks a significant development amid ongoing administrative scrutiny within KMC’s health facilities.
