MDCAT 2026 Conduct and Results Questioned as Sindh MPA Adil Askari Seeks Independent Inquiry and Re-Examination

KARACHI: Sindh Assembly member Engr. Syed Adil Askari has raised concerns over the conduct, checking and results of MDCAT 2026 and called upon Sindh Chief Minister to order an independent inquiry into the examination conducted by Sukkur IBA Testing Services.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Minister of Sindh, Askari said concerns had been raised by students and in the media regarding the examination and its results. He noted that, according to the official STS record, MDCAT 2026 was held on September 20, 2026, followed by the issuance of results and answer keys.

He demanded that CCTV recordings of examination centres be reviewed along with the complete checking and scanning process to determine whether the examination was conducted in accordance with prescribed procedures.

The MPA further called for an independent rechecking of a random sample of original answer sheets and OMR sheets and sought a transparent investigation into complaints and discrepancies reported by candidates.

Askari also demanded a comprehensive audit of the entire examination process to establish whether all prescribed procedures were properly followed during the conduct, checking and processing of MDCAT 2026.

Highlighting the importance of transparency in high-stakes examinations, he proposed consideration of an independent and professional examination body for future tests, citing examination services provided by the British Council and Aga Khan University Examination Board as possible models.

He said such systems could help ensure independent examination administration, trained personnel, security and standardised procedures.

Askari also demanded that MDCAT be conducted again under the British Council and Aga Khan University Examination Board to address candidates' concerns and restore confidence in the examination process.
