Pakistan Launches Final Nationwide Polio Campaign of 2025 from December 15 to 21

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will conduct the final nationwide polio vaccination campaign of 2025 from December 15 to 21, according to the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC). The campaign aims to protect more than 45 million children from lifelong disability caused by poliovirus.

Over 400,000 frontline polio workers will take part in the week-long drive across the country. In Punjab, more than 23 million children will receive oral polio drops, while over 10.6 million children will be covered in Sindh. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the target is more than 7.2 million children, and in Balochistan over 2.6 million will be vaccinated. The campaign will also cover more than 460,000 children in Islamabad, 228,000 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and around 760,000 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The NEOC urged parents to cooperate with vaccination teams and ensure that their children receive polio drops during the campaign. It also advised families to complete the full routine immunization schedule for all children from birth to 15 months to protect them from other preventable diseases.
