KARACHI: The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) premiered Pakistan’s first healthcare-focused web series, “Precision Meets Purpose,” at Neuplex Cinemas on Saturday. The series documents the real-life journeys of patients who arrived at SIUT with severe and complex medical conditions and underwent advanced robotic surgeries.

The project underscores SIUT’s emphasis on patient-centered care and aims to spark a national dialogue on accessible and equitable healthcare. It also reflects the institution’s long-standing commitment to medical innovation and its role as a leading center of excellence in robotic surgery in Pakistan.
Speaking in the documentary, Dr. Adib Rizvi, Founder and Director SIUT, stressed that medicine is a continuously evolving field. “Science is not static — it is dynamic. If we keep our eyes open to new frontiers, we continue to learn,” he said, adding that the adoption of new technologies depends on shared support from the public.
Dr. Irfan Rizvi, Chairman, Department of Surgery at Virginia Hospital Center (USA) and Executive Producer of the series, said technology must be adopted when it leads to better patient outcomes. He emphasized the need to bring such advancements into public-sector hospitals to ensure equitable access.
Dr. Rehan Mohsin, Head of Robotic Surgery at SIUT, noted that SIUT has performed more than 4,000 robotic procedures across multiple specialties. He said robotic-assisted surgeries significantly lower the risk of complications compared to traditional open procedures.
Conceptualized by Saima Saleem and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Jami, the web series marks a new milestone in Pakistan’s medical storytelling. The premiere event brought together healthcare professionals, supporters, and SIUT well-wishers. Following the launch, the documentary will be released on major OTT platforms and entertainment channels.
The event highlighted the rapid advancements in surgical technology in Pakistan and reaffirmed SIUT’s mission of providing free and dignified healthcare to all.
