PM&DC Launches Licensing Services in Lahore for Medical and Dental Professionals

Islamabad: In a landmark move to decentralize and digitize healthcare regulation, the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has officially launched its Licensing System in Lahore, Punjab. This is the first time such services are being offered outside the Islamabad head office, signaling a transformative step towards accessibility and convenience for the medical and dental community.

Located at the PM&DC Lahore Regional Office within Shaikh Zayed Medical Complex, this new system allows medical and dental graduates, professionals, and specialists to complete registrations, renewals, and certificate processes swiftly and securely—without needing to travel to Islamabad.

This digital initiative is designed to:

  • Streamline registration processes for practitioners,
  • Reduce processing times, and
  • Enhance transparency and accessibility.

Additionally, on-site staff at the Lahore center are available to assist applicants in completing and submitting online applications, addressing a common barrier for users unfamiliar with digital platforms.

Key Services Now Available at PM&DC Lahore:

New Registrations (Full Registration)

  • License Renewals
  • Issuance of Good Standing Certificates
  • Provision of Duplicates

Record Updates/Changes
(Note: Services related to teaching and practical experience remain centralized)

Certified documents will be dispatched via TCS courier service, while a copy of the certificate may be provided on-site for practitioner convenience.

Nationwide Rollout Plan

Speaking about the development, PM&DC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj said:

“This is a step towards accelerating the licensing process through PM&DC's regional offices. By launching this initiative, we are empowering our doctors to begin their professional journeys without unnecessary delays.”

The initiative is part of a nationwide phased rollout:

  • Phase I – Lahore (Launched)
  • Phase II – Peshawar & Karachi
  • Phase III – Jamshoro & Balochistan
  • Phase IV – Multan

Medical and dental professionals can now visit the PM&DC Lahore Regional Office for application support, registration queries, or document processing.

This initiative reaffirms PM&DC's commitment to facilitating healthcare professionals and modernizing service delivery through regional access and digital innovation.
