ISLAMABAD: Awareness activities under the global “16 Days Campaign” are continuing across the country as part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to eradicate polio, the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) said on Tuesday.

Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Polio Eradication, Ayesha Raza Farooq, held a special sitting with frontline polio workers in Islamabad, acknowledging their critical role in protecting children from the crippling virus.
During her interaction with community-based workers, Ayesha Raza Farooq praised their “extraordinary dedication” in delivering lifesaving polio vaccines despite challenging circumstances. She also listened to the issues faced by workers and assured them of full support from the national programme.
Highlighting the frontline workers’ vital contribution, she said polio workers — especially women — are the backbone of Pakistan’s Polio Eradication Initiative. “The courage and resilience of female polio workers in all conditions is unmatched,” she added.
The focal person expressed confidence that, owing to the tireless efforts of these teams, Pakistan will soon succeed in becoming polio-free.
