KARACHI: The Directorate General Health Services Sindh has issued an advisory regarding the spread of the H3N2 influenza virus, urging the public and healthcare institutions to take preventive measures amid an increased risk of seasonal influenza.

According to the advisory, common symptoms of H3N2 influenza include fever, cough, flu, sore throat, headache, and body aches. Health authorities emphasized that laboratory tests are essential for confirming infection in suspected cases.

As part of preventive measures, the public has been advised to wear face masks, wash hands frequently, avoid crowded places, and get vaccinated against influenza.
The Health Department has also directed hospitals and healthcare facilities across Sindh to strengthen surveillance, monitor suspected cases, and ensure timely reporting to relevant authorities to prevent further spread of the virus.
Health officials have urged citizens to seek medical attention in case of persistent or severe symptoms and to follow public health guidelines strictly.
