KARACHI: The Government of Sindh has appointed Tahir Hussain Sangi, a BS-20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), as Secretary, Health Department, with immediate effect.
According to a notification issued by the Government of Sindh on January 30, 2026, Mr. Sangi, who was serving as Commissioner, Larkana Division, has been transferred and posted as Secretary (BS-20), Health Department, until further orders. The notification also stated that Jamshed Alam Memon, a BS-20 officer of the ex-PCS, has been relieved of the additional charge of Special Secretary (Administration), Health Department.
Mr. Sangi brings extensive administrative experience to the health sector. Prior to his new posting, he served as Commissioner, Larkana Division, overseeing divisional governance and development matters. He has earlier held the position of Director General, Karachi Development Authority (KDA), where he managed key urban planning and development functions in Karachi.
He has also served as Special Secretary in the Health Department, providing him prior exposure to health administration and policy matters. In addition, Mr. Sangi worked as Director General, Monitoring and Evaluation, in the School Education and Literacy Department, where he was responsible for program oversight and performance assessment. He was promoted to BS-20 in 2023.
Observers within administrative and health circles have welcomed Mr. Sangi’s posting and expressed hope that his experience in governance, monitoring, and departmental management will contribute to improved administrative efficiency and service delivery in the Health Department.
