Universities assure foolproof arrangements for MDCAT 2025

ISLAMABAD: The president of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC), Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj, chaired a meeting with the registrar PM&DC, the head of the examination department, and vice chancellors of universities conducting the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025.

During the meeting, universities were directed to ensure fair, transparent, and secure arrangements for the nationwide examination. Prof. Rizwan Taj emphasized that all universities must make foolproof arrangements for the smooth conduct of the test.

It was decided that all examination venues will have proper seating, drinking water, and heating or cooling arrangements according to weather conditions. Parents’ waiting areas will also be set up at all centers. Strict security measures, including signal jammers to prevent the use of unauthorized electronic devices, will be implemented.

Each candidate will receive bubble sheets with carbon copies to maintain transparency. Question papers will be opened only in the presence of witnesses, and all answer sheets will be securely collected and stored immediately after the test. The original examination papers will be kept by the universities for at least 12 months after result declaration.

The PM&DC president instructed that results be compiled and announced within one week of the exam date. An official answer key will be uploaded immediately after the test, and universities must also offer a mark rechecking facility within three days of result publication. Additionally, a post-exam analysis report must be submitted within ten days of result announcement.

The admission process, starting after the MDCAT results, will be handled by provincial authorities and admitting universities, who must complete admissions by February 28, 2026. PM&DC clarified that it has no role in the admission process, which remains a provincial university responsibility.

Universities were advised to strictly follow these instructions to ensure that MDCAT 2025 is conducted with utmost fairness, confidentiality, and efficiency across Pakistan.
