YDA JPMC lauds recruitment drive, action against alleged illegal activities at JPMC

KARACHI: The Young Doctors Association (YDA), Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), has appreciated Executive Director Prof. Khalid Sher and his administration for what it described as significant steps to strengthen the institution through fresh recruitment and action against alleged illegal activities.

In a statement, YDA JPMC welcomed the recent recruitment of staff for the Emergency Room (ER), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), anaesthesia department, nursing staff and nursing attendants, stating that the move would help reduce the burden on existing employees, improve patient-to-staff ratios and enhance the quality of emergency and critical care services at the hospital.

The association said the recruitment drive reflects the administration’s commitment to addressing workforce shortages and improving service delivery at one of the province’s largest tertiary care hospitals.

YDA JPMC also praised the administration for taking action against an administrative computer operator allegedly involved in illegal activities within the institution, saying such steps are essential for maintaining discipline, transparency and institutional credibility.

The doctors’ body called for an immediate and impartial inquiry into all alleged cases of illegal activities, strict action against those found guilty, and full transparency in the investigation process to maintain the trust of both hospital staff and the public.

The association further demanded protection for whistleblowers and employees assisting in uncovering facts, while reaffirming its support for the Executive Director’s administration in efforts aimed at institutional reform and improved patient care.

YDA JPMC said it would continue to cooperate with the administration for the betterment of JPMC and urged the hospital leadership to continue measures aimed at strengthening the institution.
