KARACHI: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Karachi extends heartfelt appreciation to Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Deputy Mayor, and Director of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Dr. Faisal Samdani for their instrumental role in the establishment of a fully functional blood bank at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital — a long-awaited development that will serve thousands of patients every day.
For years, the absence of a dedicated blood bank posed significant challenges to emergency care and patient treatment. This vital milestone now fills a critical gap in life-saving services. The YDA especially commends the visionary leadership and tireless efforts of Dr. Faisal Samdani, whose commitment to uplifting the hospital and ensuring accessible, quality healthcare for the underserved remains exemplary.
Under the leadership of YDA Karachi President Dr. Shaharyar, General Secretary Dr. Hamza, and YDA Abbasi Shaheed Hospital Representative Dr. Ayesha — along with Dr. Mumtaz, Dr. Tooba, and Dr. Taimoor — a visit was conducted to inspect the newly inaugurated facility. Several issues were promptly resolved on-site with the active support of the hospital administration, while others are in the process of being addressed.
The YDA team praised the blood bank’s impressive standards, modern infrastructure, and patient-centered approach. This initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening public healthcare services in Karachi.
