Bridge Consultant Foundation Conducts TB Awareness Session for Transgender Gurus under CFCF Project

KARACHI: The Bridge Consultant Foundation organized an awareness session for transgender Gurus under the CFCF 2025 project, focusing on tuberculosis (TB) and drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB).

During the session, participants were provided with detailed information about the nature of TB and DR-TB, including how the disease spreads, its symptoms, available treatment options, and the importance of early diagnosis. Facilitators emphasized the serious risks associated with drug-resistant TB and highlighted the need for completing the full course of prescribed treatment to prevent further complications.

The session also focused on preventive measures, including maintaining hygiene, ensuring proper ventilation, seeking timely medical consultation, and encouraging testing in case of persistent symptoms. Participants were encouraged to share the information within their communities to help reduce stigma and promote early detection.

In addition, the Dupasi One Impact mobile application was introduced during the session. The app was installed on participants’ mobile devices, and its features and benefits were explained in detail. Organizers demonstrated how the application can support awareness, reporting, and access to relevant health information.

The session aimed to educate and sensitize transgender community leaders, ensuring they are well-informed about TB and DR-TB and better equipped to support awareness awareness efforts within their respective networks.
