Dr Zeenat Sulaiman Khan re-elected to Governing Council of International Hospital Federation

KARACHI: Dr. Zeenat Sulaiman Khan, an alumna of the Aga Khan University School of Nursing and Midwifery (AKU-SONAM), Pakistan, has been re-elected to the Governing Council of the International Hospital Federation (IHF), reaffirming her global leadership in healthcare administration.

Established in 1929 and headquartered in Switzerland, the IHF is a renowned global not-for-profit organisation dedicated to advancing hospital standards and promoting quality healthcare practices worldwide.

With over 30 years of experience in healthcare systems, Dr. Khan currently serves as the Regional Chief Executive Officer of Aga Khan Health Services, East Africa (AKHS EA). Her professional expertise spans hospital and nursing administration, quality improvement, and patient safety, with a strong record of leadership across both academic teaching hospitals and non-academic healthcare environments.

Her re-election came through a highly competitive process and is widely seen as a recognition of her exceptional contributions, visionary approach, and sustained impact in the international health sector. Colleagues and professionals in the field have praised her achievement as a source of pride for Pakistan and the wider AKU-SONAM community.
