Hemophilia Welfare Society Karachi Elections Held, Panel A Secures Victory

KARACHI: The Hemophilia Welfare Society Karachi Pakistan (HWSK) successfully conducted its organizational elections for the 2026–2028 term at its head office in Nazimabad No. 4, Karachi, in a transparent and peaceful manner under the observation of representatives from the Sindh Government’s Social Welfare Department.

According to the organization, the election process was overseen by Election Committee Chairperson Ms. Uzma Zaidi, while the administrative process was supervised by Director of Social Affairs HWSK Sindh, Mr. Shahid Saleem.

Two panels contested the elections, with Panel A emerging victorious by securing 76 percent of the votes cast.

According to the announced results, the newly elected Panel A office-bearers include Mr. Humayun Shamim as President, Mr. Ali Asghar Zardari as Vice President, Mr. Rana Asghar Ali as General Secretary, Mr. Muhammad Farhan as Joint Secretary, and Mr. Asif Abbasi as Treasurer.
The elected executive members include Ms. Qurat ul Ain, Farrukh Ahmed Khan, Mr. Shahid Dawood, Mr. Farhat Ara, Mr. Ateeq ur Rehman, and Mohsin Hassan Qazi.

HWSK appreciated the participation of members, volunteers, patients, families, and supporters in the democratic process, stating that the exercise reflected unity, discipline, and commitment toward strengthening support for persons living with hemophilia and rare bleeding disorders in Pakistan.

The organization announced that the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected cabinet will be held after the Eid holidays.
