More Than 1,400 Pakistani Medical Graduates Secure US Residency Placements

ISLAMABAD: More than 1,400 Pakistani medical graduates have secured placements in the United States residency program this year, reflecting the growing international recognition of Pakistan's medical education system, according to the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC).

The PM&DC said the increasing number of Pakistani graduates entering U.S. residency programs is the result of improvements in medical education standards, updated curricula, competency-based learning, enhanced clinical training, and regulatory reforms introduced in recent years.

The council noted that Pakistani doctors are becoming increasingly competitive among international medical graduates, with their success reflecting stronger academic preparation and alignment of medical education with international standards.

PM&DC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj said the achievements of young Pakistani doctors are a source of pride for the country and reflect the dedication of students, teachers, medical institutions, and the ongoing reforms in medical education.

He said the council would continue its efforts to strengthen medical education, support institutions, and create more opportunities for Pakistani doctors to excel internationally.

According to the PM&DC, the latest success demonstrates that with quality education, structured training, and institutional support, Pakistani medical graduates are successfully competing in leading healthcare systems around the world, further enhancing Pakistan's global reputation in medical education.
