KARACHI: A delegation of the newly formed Health Reporters Association (HRA) called on Sindh Health Secretary Tahir Hussain Sangi at his office on Thursday and briefed him about the association’s vision, objectives, and the formation of its first elected body.
The delegation included HRA President Akhtar Shaheen Rind and Deputy Information Secretary Naila Nizam of KTN. During the meeting, the HRA leadership shared its commitment to strengthening responsible health journalism, promoting public awareness, and contributing to health advocacy through professional and ethical reporting.
Sindh Health Secretary Tahir Hussain Sangi appreciated the formation of the Health Reporters Association and welcomed the initiative aimed at bringing together health journalists on a professional platform. He emphasized that the media has a critical role to play in creating public awareness, promoting accurate health information, and supporting advocacy on key public health issues.
The HRA delegation reaffirmed its commitment to working constructively with health stakeholders to encourage informed public discourse, responsible reporting, and stronger communication around health-related challenges in Sindh and across Pakistan.
