KARACHI: A 21-year-old woman from a remote village near Bahawalpur, who suffered devastating childbirth complications and social isolation due to obstetric fistula, has regained her health and dignity after successful treatment at Koohi Goth Hospital Karachi.
Bilqees, belonging to a poor family, developed obstetric fistula following prolonged obstructed labour and delayed access to emergency obstetric care during childbirth. The complication led to the loss of her baby and caused continuous urinary leakage, leaving her physically weak, emotionally traumatised, and socially isolated.
