London: A new analysis published in the Lancet warns that reductions in international health financing could result in millions of preventable deaths by 2030 across low and middle-income countries, including Pakistan.
Researchers found that funding declines may significantly impact programs targeting HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, maternal health, and child mortality. Pakistan, which carries one of the world’s highest tuberculosis burdens, could face setbacks if global donor support weakens.
Public health specialists emphasized that sustained international partnerships are essential to protect decades of progress in communicable disease control.
