KARACHI: Bridge Consultants Foundation, in collaboration with the Stop TB Partnership, has launched an awareness initiative on Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (DR-TB) with a special focus on the transgender community, aiming to improve knowledge and promote timely health-seeking behavior among a marginalized and high-risk population.

As part of the campaign, informational pamphlets were distributed and verbal awareness sessions were conducted to educate transgender individuals about the symptoms, transmission, prevention, and treatment of DR-TB. The sessions were designed to address misconceptions, increase understanding of the disease, and encourage early diagnosis and adherence to treatment.

The initiative underscores the commitment of Bridge Consultants Foundation and the Stop TB Partnership to ensuring inclusive access to health information and strengthening outreach efforts for populations that often face barriers to healthcare services. By prioritizing community engagement and targeted awareness, the campaign seeks to contribute to broader efforts to control and prevent DR-TB in Pakistan.
