KARACHI: The Directorate General of Health Services Sindh has released its latest daily dengue report, indicating a continued spread of the virus across the province. A total of 115 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours, including 63 in government hospitals and 52 in private facilities. With these admissions, the number of currently hospitalized dengue patients across Sindh has reached 114.

The Karachi Division recorded the highest number of new cases in public hospitals, with 31 fresh admissions, followed by Hyderabad where 15 patients were admitted to government hospitals. Seventeen additional dengue cases were reported from other districts of Sindh. Meanwhile, 69 patients were discharged after recovery from public hospitals, while private healthcare facilities reported 79 recoveries during the same period. No dengue-related death was reported anywhere in the province.

Laboratories across Sindh conducted a total of 4,562 dengue diagnostic tests during the last 24 hours, out of which 516 samples tested positive. Karachi accounted for the highest number of positive results with 275 confirmed cases, while Hyderabad reported 241 positive samples, reflecting continued transmission in both major divisions.
Health officials noted that despite high bed availability in hospitals, the positivity rate remains a concern, particularly in urban areas. The report, however, does not include data on outpatient cases or details of vector control measures and surveillance activities. Public health experts believe that early detection, stronger monitoring, and community-level preventive action are urgently needed to contain further spread of the disease.
