KARACHI: The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Edinburgh-based ZemBioTech Ltd., Scotland, to strengthen research collaboration in biotechnology and allied sciences.
The agreement outlines cooperation in joint research, academic exchange, and collaborative teaching initiatives. Both institutions will facilitate the exchange of academic staff, researchers, and experts to promote innovation and knowledge sharing.
The MoU was signed during an online ceremony held at the HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director of ICCBS, and Dr. M. Nadeem Kardar, Director of ZemBioTech Ltd., represented their respective organizations.
Speaking at the signing, Prof. Raza Shah said the collaboration would create new opportunities for joint scientific development and provide international exposure for young researchers and students. He highlighted ICCBS’s global standing as a leading center of excellence in chemical, biological, and biochemical sciences.
Dr. Nadeem Kardar welcomed the partnership, emphasizing its role in strengthening Pakistan-UK linkages in science and technology. He noted that ZemBioTech, dedicated to advancing innovation in biotechnology, looked forward to working with ICCBS to drive impactful research initiatives.
