KARACHI: The Hair Restoration Society of Pakistan (HRSP) will host a two-day Regional Pre-Conference Workshop in Karachi during the last week of November, following the successful completion of a similar event in Islamabad.
The Karachi workshop is part of a nationwide series of regional events leading up to the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS) International Conference, scheduled for February next year in Islamabad. Pre-conference workshops have already been held in several cities, with Karachi now set to play a pivotal role in the buildup to the global gathering.
The Organizing Committee will be led by Dr. Hanif Saeed, a founding member of HRSP, while Dr. Zulfiqar Tunio has been appointed Chairman of the Scientific Committee. Supporting the scientific sessions—featuring paper presentations, live demonstrations, and hands-on training—will be Prof. Dr. Shahab Baig, Dr. Tahir Sheikh, Dr. Manzoor Anwar, and Dr. Iqbal. The event will be supervised by Dr. Uzma Irfan, who is coordinating with the core team to ensure seamless execution.
According to organizers, the workshop will highlight the latest scientific research, techniques, and treatments for hair loss and its prevention, offering valuable insights to both medical professionals and the public. National and international experts are expected to participate, making it a landmark event for Pakistan’s medical community.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Hanif Saeed termed the upcoming ISHRS International Conference in Islamabad a “great honor for Pakistan,” noting that this is the first time the prestigious global conference will be hosted in the country. He credited ISHRS conference organizer Dr. Rana Irfan for making this milestone possible.
Dr. Saeed said the Karachi workshop and the February conference will not only strengthen professional standards in hair restoration but also create opportunities for knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and medical tourism, benefiting young doctors and helping counter unqualified practices in the field.
The Organizing Committee will soon announce the venue and final member list. Promotional campaigns—including posters and advance boards—have already been prepared to enhance visibility and ensure the event meets international standards.
