KARACHI: Patel Hospital, in collaboration with Health Asia, organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session titled “Plastic Surgery Beyond Aesthetics – Restoring Lives, Rebuilding Confidence” at the Karachi Expo Centre as part of the 23rd Health Asia International Exhibition and Conferences 2026.
The session brought together medical professionals and healthcare stakeholders to discuss the expanding role of plastic and reconstructive surgery in restoring function, improving quality of life and rebuilding patients’ confidence.
Dr. Mazhar Nizam, Medical Director of Patel Hospital, Muhammad Siddique, Director Operations, and Farhan Asadi, Director Communication and Resource Development (CRD), were among those present at the event.
The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. Dr. Mazhar Nizam introduced Patel Hospital and highlighted its healthcare services, commitment to serving humanity and various welfare initiatives. He also discussed the role of burns and plastic surgery services in treatment and rehabilitation of patients.
During the scientific session, Consultant Plastic Surgeon Dr. Saeed Ali delivered a presentation on burn care and preventive measures, while Consultant Plastic Surgeon Dr. Wahaj Arshad discussed head and neck reconstruction.
Dr. Shazra Khan spoke on comprehensive cleft care, highlighting different aspects of treatment and rehabilitation, while Dr. Noor Ali briefed participants on scar management.
Concluding the scientific presentations, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon Dr. Zoheira Khan spoke on “Breast Reconstruction: Restoring Confidence After Breast Cancer.” She highlighted the importance of breast reconstruction following breast cancer treatment and its role in helping patients regain confidence and improve their quality of life.
Shields were presented to the speakers at the conclusion of the CME session in recognition of their contributions.
