PGCN Lahore holds a seminar on advancing nursing evidence and bridging research with practice

LAHORE: The Postgraduate College of Nursing (PGCN), Government of Punjab, organized a seminar titled “Advancing Nursing Evidence: Bridging Research & Practice for Optimal Care” at its campus on Saturday, bringing together senior nurse leaders, students and academic experts to highlight the growing role of evidence-based practice in modern nursing.

PGCN Principal Ms. Razia Bano formally opened the seminar and welcomed participants, emphasizing the institution’s pioneering role in strengthening nursing education and professional development in Punjab. Post RN BS Nursing students delivered presentations on key topics including ethics in research, evidence-based nursing practice and the integration of artificial intelligence in nursing. The students also demonstrated the practical role of nurses in evidence-based practice through role plays, which received appreciation from attendees.

Prof. Sarfraz Masih, Principal of the Lahore School of Nursing at The University of Lahore, was the guest speaker. In his detailed address, he discussed multiple dimensions of advancing nursing evidence and highlighted how research, innovation and clinical practice can be more effectively aligned to improve patient outcomes. His presentation was widely praised by nursing leadership and the audience for its insight and relevance.

The Director General Nursing (DGN) Punjab attended the event as chief guest, while Dr. Nasim Rafiq, Principal of Shalamar Nursing College, and Ms. Rubina Kausar, Director Nursing Affairs at Mayo Hospital, participated as guests of honour.

At the conclusion of the seminar, Ms. Tehseena Akram, Program Coordinator for the Post RN BS Nursing program, thanked the chief guest, guests of honour and Prof. Sarfraz Masih for their valuable contributions, noting that their presence made the event both memorable and impactful. Souvenirs were presented to the chief guest, guests of honour and the guest speaker in recognition of their support.
