KARACHI: Rufayda Hamdard College of Nursing (RHCN), Hamdard University, celebrated the commencement day of BSN Batch V with enthusiasm and academic spirit, marking the formal beginning of the professional journey of newly enrolled nursing students.


The event was attended by faculty members, administrative leadership, and students, who gathered to welcome Batch V into the RHCN academic community and reaffirm the institution’s commitment to excellence in nursing education, ethics, and service.


The ceremony began with recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by an address from Ms. Alia Nasir, Principal, RHCN. In her presentation, she highlighted the history, vision, and achievements of Rufayda Hamdard College of Nursing since its establishment. She emphasized the institution’s focus on quality education and professional development in nursing.

Ms. Rozina Virani, a Family Nurse Practitioner from the United States, attended the event as a special guest and delivered a session on “The Importance of Self-Care for Healthcare Professionals.” Her talk was well received, particularly by incoming students, as she highlighted the physical and emotional well-being of healthcare workers.

Ms. Rubina Hafeez, Principal, Institute of Nursing, Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Karachi, also participated as a special guest and session speaker, sharing valuable insights and guidance with the students.
The ceremony also included a formal welcome for the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Hamdard University, Prof. Dr. Imran Amin, who was the chief guest on the occasion. The college leadership and faculty expressed their support and commitment to working collaboratively under his leadership to further strengthen academic programs, research, and community engagement.
During the event, the RHCN community expressed solidarity and condolence with the victims of the tragic Gul Plaza incident. A moment of reflection and prayer was observed to honor those who lost their lives and to extend sympathies to the affected families, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to humanitarian values, compassion, and resilience.
