KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, in his message on World Epilepsy Day (Purple Day), said that epilepsy is a treatable neurological disorder and there is no need to fear it, urging the public to promote awareness and eliminate misconceptions associated with the condition.
He emphasized that social stigma and negative attitudes towards epilepsy patients must come to an end, stressing that such discrimination often prevents patients from seeking timely treatment and living a normal life.
The Chief Minister said the Sindh government is providing quality and free treatment facilities to epilepsy patients across the province, adding that neurologists and essential medicines are available in government hospitals.
He highlighted that with early diagnosis and regular treatment, people suffering from epilepsy can lead normal and productive lives.
Murad Ali Shah also called on the public to avoid myths and false beliefs about the disease and instead rely on medical guidance and awareness.
He noted that Purple Day aims to promote global awareness about epilepsy and encourage support for those affected.
The Chief Minister concluded by urging collective efforts to build a healthier and more informed Sindh where epilepsy patients are treated with dignity and care.
