KARACHI: The Government of Sindh on Thursday issued a notification transferring Secretary Health Rehan Iqbal Baloch with immediate effect and directed him to report to the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department (SGA&CD).
According to the notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, Rehan Iqbal Baloch, an officer of Ex-PCS (BS-20), has been relieved of his duties as Secretary Health with immediate effect. The notification further stated that Jamshed Alam Memon, also an Ex-PCS officer of BS-20 and currently serving as Special Secretary (Admin), Health Department, has been assigned the additional charge of Secretary Health until further orders.
The notification was issued on January 22, 2026, with the approval of the competent authority and signed on behalf of the Chief Secretary Sindh.
Rehan Iqbal Baloch was widely regarded as one of the most powerful secretaries in the Sindh government due to his central role in key administrative and policy decisions within the health sector. During his tenure, he exercised significant influence over major health-related matters, including administrative controls and coordination with provincial and federal stakeholders.
No official reason has been stated in the notification for the transfer.
